All eyes are on Normandy and the 80^th anniversary of the 1944 D-Day on June 6th.  I think it fitting to publish a picture of my father in RAF uniform, when he was a young Spitfire mechanic stationed in Casablanca in 1943. (The British, the US, the French and many others had bases in Morocco at the time). The rest is history: He married my mother (her French parents were living in Casablanca),  and he remained in Morocco for 50 years, as founder of Morocco’s premier tour operator company, Olive Branch Tours (now defunct) . And that’s why French is my first language!
