SAFFRON IN MY BACK YARD!
Look at what I found growing in a pot in my back yard... I bury dry mystery bulbs wherever I find them, as I must have done that in that very pot: A SAFFRON CROCUS (CROCUS SATIVUS) popped up.. If you have my Edible Flowers: A Kitchen Companion cookbook, you will read about that fabulous little crocus that produces the world's most expensive spice It is also very easy to grow (at least in Southern California)..
... a thrill after trying to get rid of rats, rodents, and ants...
Bismillah and Bon Appétit,
Kitty
